I Know the Road:
Music of Southern Appalachia
For its 32nd annual production of The Christmas Revels, Revels North celebrated the culture of Appalachia. This recording captures the quiet of the mountains in the songs passed on by Appalachian musicians from generation to generation. The music speaks of the natural world, the hardship, the dark and light in human relationships. The repertoire, with few choral pieces, is more intimate than many Revels recordings.
